Virtual Online Learning January Blog Challenge

January 18, 2011 By: Scott Whitley Category: Blogs, Community, Networking, Online Learning, Social Media

Another month has come and gone and it is time for our monthly blog challenge on Virtual Online Learning, VOL for short. VOL is a meeting place focused on bringing together a community of people who are interested in blogging, social networking, online selling, and learning to use other online technologies such as Skype.

VOL makes learning fun AND profitable. VOL has many types of events each month, including this blog challenge and a Twitter challenge where each person tweets a minimum of 100 tweets in one day. These are great ways to increase exposure on Twitter and the Internet and to increase each person’s tweeting and blogging skills. VOL also has great “Go To Meeting” sessions where we learn new ideas, in depth, and have the opportunity to ask questions after the events to make the information useful.

If you are interested in learning and in being a part of an online community that is friendly and helpful, consider joining Virtual Online Learning. You will not regret it.

The Bonus of Virtual Online Networking

October 21, 2010 By: Scott Whitley Category: Networking

I have had a very enjoyable day of blogging. If I could blog for a living and do nothing else, I would be content. I simply love the act of writing.

Today, I have been involved in a blogging challenge with a group I belong to called Virtual Online Learning. We were tasked with writing five blog posts, and if we were feeling really industrious, a sixth, bonus, post. This is my bonus post. That is not what I mean in the title of this post though. When I say “the bonus of Virtual Online Learning” what I am really talking about is the great set of new friends that I see emerging from my involvement with the Virtual Online Learning group. The real bonus is the fact that there are people scattered all over this world that I have the opportunity to communicate with and to become friends with through this medium of the Internet.

Another bonus that I am getting today is the great set of blog posts that I have been reading as a result of all of the other people involved in today’s challenge. There is some really good information in some of these posts. I am reminded once again that there are articulate and talented people all over. I am gratified that I get the chance to know some of them and that I get to learn from some of them. This blog post is my “Thank You” to all who have taken the time to do this challenge today. I look forward to reading your blogs on an ongoing basis.

Virtual Online Learning is a Great Opportunity To Grow

October 21, 2010 By: Scott Whitley Category: Networking

Recently I joined a group called Virtual Online Learning. “Who is Virtual Online Learning and what do they do?” you might ask. VOL is a group of people who get together to learn about social networking, eBay selling, blogging, and just about any other Internet related selling and social networking topic you can think of. The training consists of Webinars and other teaching methods to show people not just “what” to do to succeed in networking, blogging, and selling, but “how” to do it as well. Danna Crawford from Ocala, Florida is the creator and main moderator/teacher of the group. She has been helping people learn their way around the world of networking and eBay selling for several years now. She does a wonderful job and it is obvious that she cares about people.

I know. I can hear you saying it in your head right now. “Another networking/marketing gimmick!” All I can say to that thought is this. I don’t know all of those other multitudes of coaches we see on Facebook and Twitter. I only know Danna, and to know her is to realize that she is the real thing. She is not just trying to make money, although that is a part of what she does. She delivers real value for the time that is spent learning what she has to teach. We are all very busy. We don’t have the time to do everything, learn everything, or be everything we want to. That is why we need to focus our learning. That is what Virtual Online Learning is doing for me.

Another thing I can say for sure is this. I am glad I am part of VOL and like anything else in life, I will get from it what I decide to put back into it. Give it a try and you may find yourself much further down the road to success as a hard working, social networking, eBay selling standout!
